well, if there was an obvious release button, i would never have asked the question. There are no buttons or releases visible, period. Next solution, please?

  • lisagaye Dec 31, 2009

Still looking for any difference in the bases of the headrest- both are solid circles (escutcheons, if you will, with no discernible access or releases.) The 2 posts seem rigidly fixed, and I'm still baffled and scratching my head....

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2009

the release is part of the plastic base that the head rest shaft goes through, one of the plastic bases will have a cut out piece in it and the other will be solid

There are no RELEASE buttons on the base of the 2008 Buick Lacrosse driver/passenger headrests. The buttons located at the base of the headrests are only for raising/lowering the headrests. There are no instructions in the owner's manual on removing the headrests - only raising/lowering. There also are no pinholes to unlock said headrests.

How to remove headrest in 2008 buick lucerne

GM headrests are essentially the same. Lower the seat as low as possible to allow enough headroom to remove the headrest. Next raise the headrest, push in the exposed button on one side of the 2 headrest pins that go into the seat. Notice on the other pin is a button that is flush to the plastic hole cover. This is the release button. Press this button in and the adjustment button at the same time and push up on the headrest. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQJGaWOJDw4

How do I remove the headrests in order to install seat covers?

Remove the headrests. Then slide the cover over the seat back cushion (Photo 5). Push the bottom straps through the gap and into the buckles just like you did on the bottom cushion (refer to Photo 3). Reconnect the bib panel and pull down on the rear portion of the seat back cover to remove wrinkles.

Trying to remove the headrests from the front seats of a 1998 Buick Regal LS. Want to remove old sheep seat covers for cleaning. Can't find any release. There is a small hole in the back of each plastic...

THERE MAY BE O LOCKING MECHANISM INSIDE! TRY USING A SMALL HARD WIRE, LIKE A LONG ALLEN WRENCH THAT WILL FIT IN THAT HOLE! IF THERE IS ONE THERE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RELEASE IT WITH A LITTLE PRESSURE TO UNLOCK THE HEADREST!

How can I remove front row seat headrest?

Most volvo headrest can be removed by releasing the catches which are on the back of the headrest on some models and on the front on others I believe on 960 they are on the back. To release the seat on a 960 look where the shafts should be then follow it down on the back where the seat back top stops then goes in press around that area you should be able to find the catch there pull up on the headrest while releasing the catch you have to do this on both sides. The headrest should come off this also works on 740 and 760 series the volvo 780 is a different story the only way to get the headrest off on that is to disassemble the seat

Headrest removal

Look at the top of ur seat, between the two shafts of ur headrest. Beside one of the posts is a black plastic base on which one side has a button u push. That allows u to remove the headrest. U might have to jimmy side to side a bit as they are somewhat hard to remove at times, just do so with ur finger pushing the release mechanism.

Toyota tacoma headrest removal

There should be a button on the base of the headrest to raise & lower it. Push the button, and lower it. With the button pushed, raise the headrest, and pull hard. They ARE tight.
