Just did an oil change but cannot find the reset button on a acura rsx

Check the oil level in the transmission. More than likely you will need the 5th gear syncro and gear replaced at a minimum.

You just need to change your oil and reset it. you can call your local dealer and they will let you know the interval at which the light will keep coming on. you can reset the light by having the car off and holding the trip odometer button down 10 seconds then turn the car on but keep holding the button another ten seconds after you turn the car on. this shud help.

The same thing happended to my Acura RSX and now they are saying that it is an electrical problem. I put new bulbs and both of them are fused

first open it and check 1.5V bettery, and replace.

Have you tried holding down the trip meter button then turn on the ignition whilst still holding down for at least 10/15 seconds?

Probably. That would be a sign that you're going too long between oil changes. Those filters clog with sludge and that screws up VTC operation. Change your oil. Replace the sensors and clear the codes. Find a local independent shop that has programming capabilities. You don't have to go to a dealer for a software update.

If you heard a click when you cranked it, that's usually a dead battery. But, you need to check the oil level. I've had 2 RSX's that jumped time because the oil level dropped too low.

The tensioner on the timing chain is hydraulically controlled, if the oil level drops the tensioner looses tension and the chain jumps time. Its an extensive and expensive repair.
