I have a 1991 f150 with a 5.8l. the truck will not start here are the knowns. (the truck runs, has a high idle)It will start if the fuel pumps cycle when the key is turned over.As of right now the pumps will not prime even if the pumps are on a jumper the injectors will not operate. Is this symptoms of a bad eec?

Try another ECU because i dont think this vehicle has a chipped key so another one from the scrapyard will work.Sounds like this could be the problem ,if it doesnt work then see if you can get plan renewal on it and get a nice little diesel van like a peugeot partner of similar,a small eco friendly vehicle.I have just driven a 4cyl 4.5litre diesel MAN 10ton truck over a 1000kms loaded one way with about 5 ton of load on it.cant be bad top speed of about 55mph well the speed limit is 100kms for a truck here in spain

I dont know why my 93 previa wont run anymore, it cranks and wants to start but fails, i dont know if i need new spark plugs or its the fuel pump. it has 250,995 miles on it. the only problem i had with is...

The high idle is affects it ability to start up, but the main problem is the fuel pump ,to deliver proper fuel to start the vehicle up, the previa is also equipt with a cold start injector, try this cycle the ignition but just dont start we will let it build pressure, cylcle it and do you hear the humming noise thats the fuel pump, cycle it again, now crank it hopefully this helps

Check the fuel filter-they had a recall on replacement filters(fram?-just google GMC Recalls) or go to 91 GMC Sonoma Repair=many sites to tell you and download manuel. Then the library has books if you dont. Good luck and God bless1

Did you actually change the fuel filter??? It sound like this is the problem. Did you also check the pick-up strainer on the pick-up tube on the fuel pump. this sometime also get plug up.
