My 2004 Nissan Frontier will not stop squealing!! I am positive it's the power steering belt and I cannot seem to make it stop. Tension is good, bearings in both the power steering and tensioner pulley are good, the belt is new, belt dressing is not working, I am not leaking oil or water. WTF?!?!? Never had this issue before, it's just a dam belt!

How many belts are on your engine?
And never, never use belt dressing or any spray on a rubber belt!
If you have more than 1 serp belt that drives every thing, remove the power steering belt to verify its that belt.Take a wire brush and clean the grooves on the pulleys and get that belt dressing of too, install new belt and noise will be gone.

I have a 2002 saturn sl2. power steering pully squeals opon cold engine start. Belt looks good, seems to be effected by the fan motor as well.

Check to make sure there is enough tension on the belt. Belt tensioners are pretty common on these to fail. If there seems to be enough tension try taking off the belt and putting it back on so it rotates the other way. If the noise stops replace the belt. Flipping it just helped you confirm it was the belt and not something else.

My 96 nissan quest is very hard to steer and it jerks when trying to turn. It also makes a squealing noise.

Check the power steering fluid. Sounds like it is empty. If not, check the belt and the tension on the belt.

1997 dodge avenger 2.0, belt squealing

Hi

The Power Steering Belt tension requires adjustment, to give it more tension, to cure the slipping, resulting in the squealing, or perhaps renewal, due to cracking or excessive wear.

Your Power steering Belt, belt is your primary problem.

Good Luck !

A FixYa Would Be Nice, Thank´s......John.

Belts squeal on 1998 Nissian Frontier

Squeal belts usually mean not enough tension. I have had problem with persistance squeling in the past, the problem turn out to be cheap aftermarket belt that keep stretching and wouldn't maintain proper tension, putting brake fluid or any kind of oily liquid on your belt will make it worst not better.

Hi! The pulley could be worn or the belt is not properly adjusted.Causing the belt not to grip the pulley but slide on it,creating a friction.

Squealing power steering. It is hard to turn car without squealing.

Is the power steering fluid at the proper level?

Is the belt worn or loose? Follow hoses from power steering to the pump which is connected to the belt. Google worn belts or belt tension for details.
