How hard can it be to change a bulb? - I have a 55 Ford Focus Estate and the headlight bulb has gone on the passenger side. I have had a look and cannot even get my hand in there. After some pondering and googling I am informed that the grill, battery and wheel arch has to be removed - this can't be right. I am also told the driver side is a lot easier but this side is ok. I have a battle plan and am going to do a full frontal attack on this tomorrow so wish me luck. some people I have spoken to have called the AA, paid halfords to do it and one even got charged £30.00 by his local garage. Are car manufacturers making things in this way to generate more income or what? I still remember the days I was putting pistons in my own motorcycles and rebuilding car engines (within certain limits) - whats happening with the world of today? Steve Lee (Brighton)
Halfords just did mine for £15 including the bulb. When I got there the other one had gone so I had to get both done. If you want to save money, just get one done and watch how they do it.
Go to halfords again and watch, the unit has to be unbolted, and "pulled " out and yes fords are doing it to make you pay to have it done thats how they make thier money, not good but life, and halfords dont chatge that much to learn off them :) :) if you break it !!!!!!!!!!! it will cost 200 times that halfords will charge you : ) :)
