I have a 2002 acura TL type S, there is no heat coming from the a/c unit, the blower works fine, all fuse are ok, but regardless of the temperature setting it only blows out cold air. All the vents work properly, but it seems the temp is constantly set to as cold as possible. any ideas?

check the fuse and the relays for the fan motors.if thats ok check to see if it is vacuum operated controls and that none of the pipes are off or split.

Unless you are an expert do not even attempt this. This is one of the first things that they put into the car, it requires you take off the entire dash, drop down the steering column, remove multiple vents / ducts, remove the chiller, remove screws from inside the engine compartment. This is at least a 10 hr job if you are good.

Ok it may be that the heater core bypass valve isnt opening. All that valve dose is when you turn the climate control to heat it opens a valve that allows hot coolant from the engine to flow through the heater core. What I would do is check that. It will be on the left side (passange) of your engine bay.You will see two black coolant hoses next to eachother and one will have a black box with a wire that runs to it. Have someone move the climate control from hot to cold to hot back to cold. If you dont see the wire move then you can move it yourself to open the valve.
Let me know if the valve opens or not using the climate control.

the heater core could be clogged you might again check your coolant level just to be sure its full
