Not sure what 'spitting' means, but I'd suppose an exhaust leak may sound like a spitting noise...

computer probly needs to be flashed or reprogrammd to sync w new motor---some independent shops have the factory gear to do this-dealers only go back like 5yrs

I would say no

You have a larger dia in the 225 vs: 205
& a larger profile in the 65 vs: 55

You could have a several issues, mostly the
abs braking system, as well as the speedometer
& transmission shifting

The speedometer and odometer may not work, and the transmission may not shift. The check engine light should be on.

I would look at the positive cable at the battery and at the starter. Pull the cabel off and a continuity test to see if the wire has a internal break if the wire gets even a pinhole it can build corrosion on the inside of the wire and when a current is put through it it seperates (from the resistance and arc from corrosion) causing the wire to seperate internaly.

it might be your vehicle speed sensor. It affects your speedometer, your cruise control and your trans shift points. Also, your throttle position sensor (TPS) affects shift points.

Does the speedometer work?

As for obtaining the dipstick. You might try Napa. If not Napa, then a Ford Dealer. I doubt the dip stick is the end of your troubles here, though.
