THE 97 HONDA CRV DIAGNOSTIC HOOKUP IS UNDER LOWER CENTER CONSOLE,UNDER PLASTIC COVER,RIGHT SIDE CENTER.IT'S LIKE AN INCH OR TWO OFF THE FLOOR.I HAVE SAME VEHICLE.
Probably the same issue I am having with the A/C actuator. Move your selector from dash vents to floor vents, then to defrost and see if the sound stops. Mine is stuck on either floor or defrost right now, won't direct air out through the dash vents. The gears in the actuator motors strip and the thumping will get worse until the gear is finally worn down and won't work at all.
It sounds like you have a bad CV axle, that is the clicking/popping sound you are hearing when you turn, and a bad wheel bearing, that is the roaring sound that you are hearing.
