2 places to check 1. look at the rear wheel backing plates for moisture 2. pull the master cylinder back and look for fluid in the vacuum booster. if leaks at the rear its going to be rear wheel cylinders which will require replacing wheel cylinders and shoes. if the vacuum booster is full replace the master and booster.

Both brake lights out on my 94 ford ranger. What could be the problem?

I would check the brake light switch that is located on the top of the brake pedal. While the brakes would work, the brake lights wouldn't.

The brake light on my dash comes on once in a while. what does that mean....fluid or emergency problem? It's a 91 ford ranger pickup

is the break pedal soft or spongy is so check the level if low then check the lines and wheel cylinders for leaks if no leaks and good brakes and if the truck has anti-lock breaks it is more likly to be a abs sensor but also if no leaks and soft pedal could also be the master cylinder. if hard pedal then check the lines on the booster but that does not make the light come on. hope this helps

We have a 94 manual transmission Ford Ranger located in a cold climate. All of a sudden, when you step on the clutch pedal there is no resistance. Suggestions on what this might be?

you need to check the fluid level in the hydraulic clutch master cylinder under the hood,it is probably low or the slave cylinder in the bell housing that pushes the throw out bearing in is leaking.

My 1994 ford rangers clutch pedal just lost all pedal

There are two types of clutch actuators. (Mechanical & Hydtraulic)
A. For mechanical type,- Check the clutch cable as
this could be cut from wear and tear. This is easy
to replace. You can find this connected to the
pedal and the clutch lever near the transmission.
B.For hydraulic operated - Check the level of the
hydraulic oil at the cylinder of the hydraulic
actuator under the hood. This actuator is
directly connected to the pushrod driven by the
pedal. If the actuator is leaking, you have buy
a repair kit (Hyraulic clutch repair kit for Ford
Ranger 1994 MOdel.) These items must be
repaired to activate your pedal.

What causes the brakes to go out i checked the fluid and it's good my brakes are not working at all

it might be your master cylinder..."my brakes go out" is not the best description. if the pedal feels very soft, or goes all the way to the floor, then its probably the master cylinder. also, if you just had break work done, then its possible that not all the air go blead out of the system. if the breaks are hard to push, then your break booster may have a leak..

cheers
