Hello, Well its starts off a few months ago when i took out my factory stereo, when I did this i had zero experience in the world of wiring, so i cut off the plug, leaving nothing but exposed wires hanging out of my dash, and now I want to hook up this new stereo that I've gotten for Christmas, one problem though, i don't know which wire does what! So if you would please like to lighten up my world a little, and send me the link to a stereo diagram for a 1993 Ford Tempo Gl that I could either Print or look off of would be fantastic! this would be greatly appreciated hence its the only thing keeping me from hooking up my rad new system! Thanks!
I just installed an aftermarket stereo in my daughters 93 Ford Tempo.
I have seen others post on-line and they were incorrect for my 93, the one I found my have been for a different year. THere are 2 wiring harnesses on the stock/OEM unit, one for the speakers (#1) the other for the power (#2). Here is what I found:
Harness #2
Constant 12 v+ : Green/Yellow
Switched 12v+: Yellow Black
Ground: Black/Yellow
Illumination: Blue/Red
Unused: Orange/Black
Harness #1
Left Front (+): Orange/Green
Left Front(-): Blue/White
Right Front(+): White/Green
Right Front(-): Green/Orange
Left Rear(+): Pink/Green
Left Rear(-): Tan(Brown)/Yellow
Right Rear(+): Pink/Blue
Right Rear(-): Brown/Pink
Hope this helps.
