2000 Mazda 626

Sixteen year old car with only 40K miles must not be driven often, or sat for some time. I would suspect fuel system issue, such as bad pump, clogged filter, bad regulator or faulty injectors. Start by testing fuel pressure.

Where is the inertia switch located on a 2000 626 Mazda

You Mazda does not have an inertia switch like the fords do. The only things that control the fuel pump are the pcm, fuel pump relay, and the fuel pump fuse.

How donu bleed the fuel on a 2000 Mazda 626 lx 2.0

You don't bleed the fuel. You have a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail that does this for you. Turn the key on 3 or 4 times. this builds up pressure. Try to start the car. If it does start, check fuel pressure. Check to hear if the pump is coming on.

2000 mazda 626 driving down highway then just dies.. timing belt or fuel pump/filter?

By you saying the engine "Dies" I am going to assume it restarts.
If the timing belt failed the engine would not start again until the belt was replaced.
So it could be a fuel or electrical problem.

Check fuel pressure
The fuel pump may be worn out &
binding up every few days & stopping
the fuel to the engine.
Then you have other items that a repair shop
can check, that may be causing your problems.

Mazda 626

Hi Janieanip01,
Again we need more imfo....Is the vehicle injection?....If it is you'll have to wait until the fuel rail is re-pressurised before it will start....Crank it for about ten seconds at a time so as not to burn out the starter motor....It may be that the vehicle didn't run out of fuel but instead the pump may have given in....and when did you last replace the fuel fiter?
