Have you checked for a jammed CD within the player? I had had an error code 6 (i.e. "CDE-6" on the display). I have a 6-CD player, and it turned out that the 6th CD was jammed. When I was finally able to get it loose (I had to detach the unit so I could actually get a good poke at the CD), everything went back to working fine.Have you checked for a jammed CD within the player? I have a 2002 Honda (4 door) Civic LX with a build in 6 CD changer. When I turn the ingnition on the light indicadors above each CD # travel back and forth several times. When I press to play, change or eject, it shows ERROR. What can I do?
Obtain serial number of the unit that is in your vehicle. ( usually on the back of the unit).
Pay a visit to the dealer with the title , registration and serial number of the unit and he will give you the code. Cost $ approx $50 to $75.
If you choose not to remove the radio yourself to obtain the serial number the dealer will do the whole show for you for approx $100.00.
Contact your local dealer prior to showing up .
i would recommend purchase an aftermarket cd player. you can also purchase a cd player is dash kit. that will come with the wire harness connector and the brackets to hold it in place.
"PEO" USUALLY means Player Error Optical, which means in most cases the laser has malfunctioned. When this happens of course,no CD or disc will play. You can try and clean it with a disk cleaner and if that doesn't work you are probably gonna hafta buy a new cd player. I have a link to a best buy private auction that lets you bid on things like cd players and what not. I bought one, a Pioneer DEH 2900 for 16 bucks!, Lemme know and I'll have it sent to you.
