If you have a manual transmission/non-turbo, the fluid fill plug, which is rubber, is located on the drivers side at the top of the transmission on the side facing the tire.

Warm engine and transmission to operating temperature.

Select each gear, all forward gears and reverse gear while stopped with brake applied.

Replace selector in park, and check fluid under hood at transmission dipstick. It is clearly labeled.

2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Yesterday automatic gear shift seemed tight. Check transmission fluid. Fine. Won't release from park today. Is there a shift release button? I can't find it.

Foot on the brake before you shift
Lift up lightly on the shifter and wiggle
If nothing pull the center console and check the shifter to see what is in the way

I have a mitsubishi eclipse rs 1995 the clutch goes all the way in and its hard to shift gears, how can i fix it?

This is usually caused by air entering the hydraulic clutch system after the fluid in the reservoir has leaked out of the slave cylinder. Check the fluid level and if low check the slave on the transmission for a leak. If leaking, replace the slave cylinder aqnd bleed the system. If this is not the problem or you have questions/need instructions, please let me know.

2001 mitsubishi eclipse. Automatic transmission

Transmission may be low on transmission fluid or the transmission fluid pump failed. If it's electrical, you can still get it in to gear, but would not shift gears. Good luck and keep me posted, check transmission fluid level and have the transmission line pressure tested. Before that check all your fuses.

My 1995 Eclipse has no gears... I can move the shifter any way i choose... front shift linkage cables are connected.... Cable to shifter is connected... wat else can i check and how?

sound like transmission fluid is real low or transmission need over haul.try changing fluid and filter.it that dont help transmission has internal mechanical problems.worn pump or forward clutch plates worn and leaking clutch seals time for over haul.

Automatic transmission trouble

With so little info, you can only guess. Most computer controled transmission default to either second or third gear if there is an electrical problem.

The mitubishi trans has sensors on the trans that if they are hooked up wrong, it wont shift. If the fluid is full and clean, odds are you have an electrical problem. Could even be a fuse or the computer.

Hope this helps.

Well generally and very basically, ya, unplug the wires from Alternator then remove the bolts that attach it, remove the drive belt, Then, reinstall the new Alternator, then put belt on.. retighten the bolts.. reattach the Wires.. ya should be good to go. Check Check Check.

NB: Take note of how "Tight" the belt drive is and try to replicate that tension when finished.
