After Market Radio Installation

Hey man, you have an amplified system. use a 70-1858 wiring harness and jump the blue/white wire from the aftermarket radio to the pink wire on the second plug. this will power on the factory amp with the aftermarket radio.

this is a matter of choice, but if you get an after market one it will most likely have to wired in by a radio installer as the plugs will no match up.......hope this helps......cheers.

So i installed my cd player in my car, all the wiring is correct and when i started the car to see if it works, the cd player does not turn on, then to compound matters the power door locks don't work and...

As you mentioned that " CD player does not turn on".By this do you mean to say that there is no power to the radio.Or there is power to the radio but nothing is getting started on radio/stereo unit. Also is it after market radio unit or is a factory installed company radio.In some cases its noticed that radio does get started till the exact radio code is inserted.In that case you can get the radio codes from the local dodge car dealer.But if its not a radio code problem,but the power related problem then the radio connections has to be checked.Also some after market radio/stereo units are not compatible with car.So that is also possible. ------------- Get this possibilities confirmed.So this will help to retrieve the exact cause of the problem.Thanks.Helpmech.

My radio in my Yukon turns on but no sound comes out of the speakers. i installed an after market cd player and i still cant get any sound on the speakers

It sounds like the amp is not functioning on the radio. If you install and after market cd player the radio still won't play because it's the same amp.

Now, if you would change the radio and it still won't play, it sound like it would be the wiring to the speakers. Speakers usually don't burn out, but anything is possible.

1988 bmw 325si manufacture radio is missing but wiring cluster is intact apparently. Do i have to have a stock radio replacement or can i install a cd player deck without causing problems???

Generally you any after market radio can be installed into any car. You might have to cut the original wiring connector but basically all you need to hook up a basic radio/cd player is a positive and a ground wire. That's what powers the radio/cd player. Next all you need to do is hook up the speaker wires the unit. One other option is to check out ebay for a used radio/cd player. You will do better getting a radio that does not have an anti-theft feature. If it has an anti-theft feature you will have to enter a code to make it work.

My 93 Boneville CD Player does not work, the radio works fine but it will not play CD's, also how would i install a set of speakers (subwoofers)

the cd player is bad and you can hook up subs through a rca hook up that you can hook to your speaker wires in the trunk the adapter is like 20 bucks at radio shack or local sound installer or buy an after market cd player cause yours will never work again and run rca's off the back of the radio to your trunk

you need a wire harness for your car you can buy them at most auto parts stores make sure and buy the one for your make and model they should have instructions and the wiring diagram most harnesses are color coded and pretty simple to install

the easiest way to install a aftermarket radio is with a adapter kit sold at most auto stores...such kits make all the wiring conversions for you....and save the hassle of tracing down every wire

How do i remove the factory radio?

Take your car to an accessory shop and they would neatly remove the radio without damaging the orignal cables. You would also get the new pins installed to the original car wires which can fit your after market system
