Cluth cable ajustment if equiped. Some cars have a cluth cylender if your model has the cylender no ajustment is available. If you had your cluth changed at a garage you might consider takeing it back in for ajustments. If you changed the clutch check cluth cable for ajustment if your car is equiped with cable if not i would perhaps remove the transmission and inspect clutch for loose clutch plate or release bearing might not be seated properly hope this helped you.

Changed the transmission fluid on my automatic, not vehicle wont go into reverse.

Are you sure you put the correct amount in? Sounds like when it's cold the fluid settles on the bottom. But when it warms up, the fluid starts to travel and not be enough to lube and cool the gears. Check you owners manual or compare what you took out with the amount you put in.

1994 dodge ram 1500 2wd wont shift out of 1st gear.reverse works

take bottom pan off clean out your pressure sensor .. tends to get mini metl flakes caught up in there wich is also a bad sign that your tranny is going out but this will buy you atleast another 2 to 3 months

95 corolla wont shift from 1st

Hi there:
Sound like the valves in the valve body are jammed or there is major damage to the gear sets which will not allow second gear to engage.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Hard to shift my gears when car in cold.Won't even go out of neutral to 1st gear.Forget about going into reverse.

With the engine off, check your operation of the gear shift. If you can go in and out of the gears fine without the engine running, then you have a worn clutch disc that needs replaced. If the problem still exists then you either have low fluid/weak hydraulic system, or there is a problem with the syncro that may be adjusted.

My 93 chevy truck wont shift into 3rd gear. goes into reverse fine 1st and 2nd gear with no problems and no slipping just wont go into 3rd whats the problem?

I say band adjustment in transmission, have done by shop. might be just a vacuum hose or modulator, but I don't think so

Tranny problem 1st gear wont work really and its hard to get 2nd gear but 3rd,4th,and 5th work fine plus reverse works fine. do i need to replace the clutch? or is it sumthing else that wont let me get in...

There is problem in the gearbox. The sincronizers for a first & second gear are on the same gearswitch.Need to change them.Forget about the clutch.

2000 beetle wont shift up gears.....

Hi
Firstly check the gearbox oil, secondly check the slave cylinder ensure there is no leaks etc, sometimes the leak will only dampen the area you may not see pools of fluid on the floor.

It could have air in the system and just need bleeding through, ifits not this then it could be the torque converter on the gearbox.

Check the cheapest parts first, most likely it will be the slave cylibder.

Hope this helps

1st gear slipping at start. reverse and other gears fine. shifts between gears fine. if i start off slow it wont slip. 01 rodeo 4 cyl. also eng light has been on for 1 yr. has 120000 miles.

Have you checked the trani fluid ?
It could be slipping just enough to notice in 1st gear beause that is the most resistance..
A slip is a slip..
Or it could be that the bands are warn in only first gear - wich would cause damage before long..
Some shops give free estimates..
