Today after starting my 1998 dodge caravan the ABS light came on. What should I be concern about?

I'd get your brakes checked out. Check for abs trouble codes. I know some of the national brand auto stores will check po codes for free, not sure about abs codes?

That sounds dangerous to me, get it checked out. Till you get it fixed, set your parking brake when you stop, that should help.

ABS stands for "Anti Lock Brake System" if the light is on you need the system scanned by the dealer for the fault code in the memory of the control module.

You definately sound as though you have an electrical short. I would have a mechanic do an electrical test.

Bad brake master cylinder could cause this, It will start leaking internally and not build up pressure. Will happen just do to age, will need to replace it and bleed brake system.

check if you can slowly turn the key, if they start working, replace the ignition switch

You could check a couple of things. There are a couple of connectors in the back of the instrument cluster, check for connection. Maybe a bad ground.

The Gen II caravans had other bizarre issues with the BCM. Chrysler did issue some TSBs concerning some of the. Some would include the HVAC controls not working, the wipers not working or doing whatever they want to, no horn, and other things that may make you believe that your car is possessed, as I have come to suspect. The BCM also controls the instrument cluster and can do some bizarre things there as well.

If the solenoid clicks it could be worn contacts inside the solenoid. They feed current to the starting motor and when they get worn they sometimes will not make contact.

Have a mechanic check your Body Control Module.

You cant bleed the ABS,this is your anti lock brake system,try to bleed them again,then check your power brake booster,check for loose vacuum hoses.
