Mostly this problem appends on winter time. I f you take your car to the dealership you could throw your money away like many people did and the problem still not solve. I fixed mine definitely by myself and you could do it too. 1- Open the hood, Jack the vehicle. On both front tires you will see a cable that looks like a Rca jack that connect to the brakes but it's bigger than RCA jack. 2- Follow that RCA cable to the hood and on the other end tou will see 2 small white wires that bring power to ASR and ABS system cut those 2 wires and you automatically disable the ASR and you solve the problem. As you know the ASR system is good for snow, it's like a 4 by 4 and you will need it later to drive safely in bad weather when there is snow. What to do next. After cutting the 2 small wires, I put 2 swiches in case I need the ASR in bad weather. One swich for ASR and the other one for ABS. when you cut one wire you connect both ends to the swich and you do the same for the second wire that you cut. The only one thing you will see is the ASR and ABS light will turn on on the dash. When driving in bad weather, open the hood and turn on the swich

I had a similair problem on my 600SEL 93, I read many articles and they were all bad news. When I checked the transmission fluid, I found out it was under a lot of pressure but the level was fine. After that the problem was gone.

How to disable asr 1997 mercedes E320

you may not be avail to disable, actually let me re-frame that, when the light is on the system is disable, limp mode.
is hard to do with out a scanner, but if you have one, replace your brake switch, and reset the light. the brake switch controls the ASR/ BAS/ STABILITY CONTROL/ THE CRIUSE CONTROL. CHANGE IT WILL FIX YOUR CAR.

My 92 mercedes 500 sel has the ars light come on and then it loses power, what can i do to fix it?

Check ASR system. Wheel sensors would be a good start because thats what the system checks for speed difference at the wheels. It reduces power to keep you straight on the road.

Asr limp home MB 600

Model years 93 and 94 have the L.H. type fuel injection system. There is also e.z.l.(ignition),a.s.r.(acceleration slip regulation-traction)i.s.c.-c.c.-e.a.(idle speed control, cruise control and electronic acuater),d.m.(diagnostic mod.)and the base module. With a v-12 there is 2 of everything exept base and d.m.. the d.m. mod. overlooks the entire system and the base supplies voltage to the computers. This system is complicated and difficult to diag. Most likley one of your electronic acuaters is faulty. That is your throttle motor. These era vehicles have wire harness issues. Have the car ran for codes starting with the d.m.. at least this vehicle will store faults-the light does not have to be on to read the fault. More than likley you will find an e.a. code. You can have these motors rebuilt for about 1/4 the cost of a new one. Also never attempt to raise idle at one of the actuaters because if they are not both moved at the same time you will lose throttle synchronization and have to have the memmory cleared and resynch. motors. It will cause the exact symptoms like you described-also when the pigtail harness wires short and the modules lose the throttle synch. Good luck

The asr light is on and the car does not

the o2 senser would not cause the a.s.r. light to come on-there is only 2 things that the engine module and the a.s.r. module have in common. 1 is the e.a. actuater(throttle) and 2 is the base module. most likley either your acuater has to be resynchronized or the actuater itself is bad. have codes pulled from your h.f.m.,a.s.r.,e.a-i.s.c.-c.c modules and see what the codes say. You will probably find that they say e.a. actuater module is defective. the pig tail connecters go bad and they need to be replaced just be glad you do not have a 600 series because they cost about 1200 a piece and the v12 have 2 of them. If it is defective and you cannot resynchronize it there is a company that rebuilds them for about 1/3 the cost of a new one- good luck

On a 1995 S500 Mercedes , ASR light keeps coming on

yes they can but unlikely-more likely a bad over voltage relay(powers up idle speed computer) or wire harness-your vehicle is probably a hfm type fuel injection they changed from lh that year. find out if it is lh check the fuses in the base module located in the passenger side of the engine compartment under a cover held in by 4mm allen head bolts-alot of times these control units have intermittent contact with there connectors. asr stands for acceleration slip regulation-both isc and asr communicate via can system to monitor throttle position- ea isc cc-idle speed cruise control and electronic actuater(throttle)-hopefully i have helped
