I cannot shut off my headlights manually when I turn off the car engine. I work or turn the switch several times and it has not been working properly.
Also, does not work (takes several tries) when using car key remote.

Can't find anything in the car manual regarding same.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tucson.

SOURCE: how do i change right headlight bulb on a 2007

You change it like you'd change any headlamp bulb. There is an access cap behind the headlamp assembly -- remove it, then remove the connector to the bulb, then remove the retaining clip/spring holding the bulb in place. Then install/insert the new bulb in the same 'ORIENTATION' as the old one. Reinstall in reverse order... ALAKAZAM!... .done!

SOURCE: Adjusting Headlights of a 2006 Hyundai Sonota

The headlamps are adjusted by a wheel which can be operated by aphillips screwdriver. There's a hole in the top of the headlamphousing or radiator support which leads to the wheel with little teethon it on the back of the headlamp. The lamps on your car emit a veryshort but wide beam, so no horizontal adjustment should be needed.

SOURCE: headlight aiming

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

What can be the problem with my Kia Sportage 2013 high beam, left one works fine but right one comes on and then switches off. Earth is good so are the globes.

So when the car is off and you have your headlights switched on both the low beam setting and high beam setting work normally. But once you start your car your low beam headlights work but when you switch to your high beams the right headlight shuts off? I don't know how that'd be possible since the controls for your high beam and low beams aren't connected to whether the engine is running I'd suggest changing your headlight bulbs

I have narrowed my problem of no working lights on my 97 Hyundai 2 door hatchback to the switch that turns on the lights after the engine is started. Everything else works, tail lights running lights, even...

No, I wouldn't suspect the headlight switch. Something more sinister, more surreal, too: a module, maybe a body control module, or a light control module, probably under the dash somewhere. GM began using a lighting control module (LCM) at least as far back as 1992, tucked unhandily up under the dash, and wired between the headlight switch and everything else in the lighting circuits.
Normal to suspect the headlight switch, but the odd conjunction of the car running and the headlights' actions suggest a module (another computer!) may be in there. The headlight switch should have no effect on it if the engine was running or not. You would have to see a wiring diagram in a repair manual to check. I am not familiar with your Hyundai, but if you could find a diagram, you should be able to fix it.
If you register for free at autozone.com, giving make, model, year and engine size of vehicle, you can access wiring diagrams and repair procedures. Just look under repair guides.
Wiring diagrams were under Chassis Electrical, if I recall.

Headlights stay on too long after engine is off

been working on the same issue for a week. fixed it last night after research and trouble shooting. The head lights are controlled by the head light dial/knob on your dash on the left side of your steering wheel. With the knob pushed in, if you shut down your car, the lights should automatically shut off as well. Mine didnt so what I did was i turned off my car, disconnected the positive battery terminal located inside a fist sized red box on the right side of your engine. Then I took off the dash panels to get to the actual connection on the headlight switch/dial/knob. I disconnected it and put it all back together. It fixed the problem. It worked for me, maybe theres an easier or faster way of fixing it but this worked. Good luck.

Head lights stay on after engine is shut off.light switch in car is not on.tail lights aren't on just head lights

If you are turning the engine off before turning the headlights off then the headlights(only) will remain on for approximately 1-min. This feature allows you to use the headlights to get to where you want to, such as to your door with some light.
If your are turning your engine off before turning your headlights off, to turn them off - turn the headlights back on and then back off again. The headlights will turn off immediately.
However, if you are NOT turning off the engine before turning off the headlights, then this feature may be malfunctioning in the switch. To remedy this right away use the above procedure - turn back on then back off; until you can replace the malfunctioning switch.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional questions or information. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!
Again stated: these will normally turn off after 1-min.
