Toyota Caldina cambelt broke. Valve damage?

I have a 1994 Toyota Caldina 2.0L diesel. The cambelt broke while driving. Is there likely to be valve damage?
Note: there was no option for caldina so I selected corolla.

Sorry to say there is most likely quite expensive damage to the valve train and pistons. A new cam belt can be installed and the motor rotated to see if it is turning freely after which you would do a compression check (lack of compression will indicate bent or broken valves). I've never seen a diesel break a belt and avoid damage, virtually always a catastrophic failure.

My 2015 nissan np200 1.6 8valve broke cambelt will my valves also be bent

If the timing belt snaps, they run into each other, causing bent valves (most common), cylinder head or camshaft damage, and possibly piston and cylinder wall damage. ... In a non-interference engine, the pistons and valves don't occupy the same space, so if the timing belt snaps, no valve or cylinder damage occurs.
nissan are all Interference engines

Hi. As I was driving 100 kph on my 2007 polo 1.9 TDI sportline, funny noise came from the engine. motor stopped running. I pulled over, opened the hood only to find out the v belt has been snapped

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN THE CAR OVER, KEEP IT OUT OF GEAR SO THAT THE CRANKSHAFT DOES NOT GET ROTATIONAL FORCE OTHERWISE IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE.You need the services of a mechanic/technician as soon as possible, if we are talking about the cambelt , the engine might be an interference engine which means that times in the engines rotational cycle the pistons and valves overlap. The cambelt, (if that is what you mean by the vbelt,) ensures that the valves are up , away from the piston when it is on the up stroke. It sounds as though your engine might have sustained some damage but this might just be some bent valve heads which can be resolved by replacing valves. Hopefully there is no more damage than this. You really need to find a decent diesel qualified engineer.

Good Luck

Cambelt broke in je v6. is motor stuffed

Probably not. The valves will be bent requiring a head job and a visual inspection will reveal any damage to the piston tops. This would be unusual as the valve stems bend very easily.

Cambelt broke on start up

If you broke a cam belt then you have serious damage in the head. the cam shaft holds several valves open at various stages of the cycle and they are hit by the pistons as the engine turns over resulting in bent valve stems. No easy cheap fix as the head has to come off to replace the valves.Best you find a qualified reliable mechanic to do the job and it will cost

Toyota Caldina 1999, too smoke from exhaust

if it is diesel and you have black smoke you need fuel injectors either serviced or replaced also you must check the engine valves clearance. If your smoke is blue white smelling unburned fuel renew injectors. If it is blue white smelling oil and diesel then you will have piston rings and valve steam seals.

This is a 4cyl diesel Beetle. The timing belt broke while driving. Dealer claims no damage done, replaced belt and car was driven for a few weeks. Began to start a bit sluggish, dealer said glowplugs...

my books show it as a interference engine in which case valve damage is most likely to occur
however if that was the case , it would be having a miss from the start and would not run 2 weeks before something happened
if a valve spring breaks there could be valve piston contact but it is doubtful if that would destroy the engine but again breaking valve springs is rather rare on diesel engines
the engine would not just quit but would rattle and bang it's head off then develope a big noisy miss from a hole in the piston
so I suspect a timing belt problem from when they removed/replaced the head after the glo-plug fix or a crank/cam shaft position sensor or wires ( possible faulty connections for the cam shaft)
I would suggest finding an accredited service center for a proper diagnosis and quote for engine repairs

The cambelt tensioner collapsed will there be any damage to the engine?

There will be if the camshafts jumped timing. Check the marks on your camshaft and see if they are relatively close, usually if they are two teeth or more apart then engine damage has occured, however even if it jumped more there is still a chance that the engine was not damaged.
