please take the key fob to your nearest advanced autoparts and ask them to pull out the battery for you. Then, you can test the key fob with the new battery. If it works, then your fob is fine. But if not, you would need to order a new key fob for your car.

Change the battery

Wipe the board
The board inside your remote can get a lot more filthy than you think! When the board is dirty it can prohibit the contact to the circuit board when you push down on the button. Simply wiping the circuit board off can make your key fob like new again! Get it checked
Go to your local hardware store like AutoZone or Oreilly's . They usually have a RF frequency tester. This little gadget will let you know if your key fob is sending a signal. If it is, you may need to reprogram your key fob to your vehicle
The old car battery reset trick
I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect both terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Dead battery in the Key fob. Or the car battery is dead. There should be a slot on the lower left side of the dash. You slide the fob in buttons up key chain out. They had allot of problems with that system in 2008-2009.
Hi Julie, have the battery in your key fob replaced and if that is not the problem then have the car battery checked , charged or get someone to jump start your vehicle, don't worry this is not a major problem, you just need some MALE help. Good luck!
I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.
in most cases you need to change the fob battery if you do need to be done in less than 10 sec if take longer need to be reprogram again now the problem is it only is going to work on the fob is working at moment the other is dead now it wil need reprogram
Either an interior light or head lights were left on all night, or there's a dead short in the electrical system, or... the battery completely failed internally such as a weak spot or defect in the plates. At any rate, it all obviously points to the battery. Replace the battery.
