Golf GT Tdi 115 - performance when warm.

I have an X reg vw golf gt tdi 115. When the engine warms up, usually after 10-20 mins of motorway driving, the acceleration in any gear seems really poor compared to normal. The temp is normal.

Any ideas. Thanks Matt

You dont say what miles the car has done.but you should now be using semi synthetic 20/50 oil and try using a fuel additive(redex/wynns)to clean the injectors.if you are using oil it is possible that the engine has lost some of its compression due to ring/valve wear.did you know that to convert your engine to a 130/150bhp unit, you only need to change the ecu try"diesel tuning"website.....

I have just been told that my VW Golf GT TDi 140 Reg55 needs a new EGR Valve motor. Is this common for this Reg or Golf?

Since exhaust gas (therefore lots of carbon) runs through the EGR it isn't uncommon for them to fail. Sometime a simple cleaning can put them back in service. You'll have to remove the vavle and use a strong cleaner (like carb or brake parts cleaner) to remove the carbon. Clean the valve and the area where the valve bolts to the engine. I've known this to save many people hundreds of dollars in a wasted repair. Good luck.

2001 vw golf 1.9 gt tdi miss fire

if you have a pd engine and you say that it miss fires i would change the wire loom to the injectors if it persists the air flow meter is on the blink, has you car ever gone into a limp mode status were you couldn't rev then check your turbo ,this may sound strange but just had a 150bhp tdi which was remapped with a very simular problem

We think it could be the engine management system - would recommend going to a reputable garage for it to be reprogrammed.

Vw golf gt tdi 115.

If you are losing water and it is not being forced out of the reservoir (unlikely) and ther is no sign of it dripping from the engine plumbing... then if your acceleration is starting to diminish... or you seem to not have as much power as usual, then it is probably a faulty cylinder head gasket... sorry.... hopefully not, as this is a bit of a job to fix.
