YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IN THE FRONT END STERRING LINKAGE. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. PLEASE PLEASE HAVE THIS CHECKED NOW!!!!

either the belt is slipping, or the pump is going out, check the fluid level,, sometimes it feels like the steering is hard due to the idle settings on the vehicle being to low, which makes the pump turn slower which makes it seem as though the pump isn't working correctly,,

You probably have a blown fuse if none of the lights work on the front. The interior fuse box is located inside the driver door on the edge of the dash, there should be another fuse box under the hood. If the fuse for the lights isn't blown, then the actual switch may be bad.

The flasher is mounted to the back side of the multi-function switch. To gain access, the upper steering column cover must be removed (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/STEERING COLUMN OPENING COVER - REMOVAL). The flasher can be removed by pulling it forward. The flasher is serviced separately from the multi-function switch. The flasher is black in color for ease of identification (COMBINATION FLASHER LOCATION).

if you are referring to the back light in the cluster, there are several 'Christmas' lights in the cluster. you can access this by removing the cluster which isn't too technical. how ever i like to remove the steering wheel as this makes it easier. you will need T-30 Torx driver. and a 23mm 1/2' socket. to remove the steering wheel. then its a few screws (cross or Philips which ever you prefer) and a couple of connectors and you can pull out the cluster to see which style bulb it is. usually there are 1-2 types of bulbs in there clusters.

Keep in mind there are 2 screws in the top of the trim around the cluster and 2 in the op of the cluster itself. there are 2 screws in the bottom of the trim and the cluster as well. if you do not remove the steering wheel it is quite a task removing the cluster but it is possible.

Possible clogged fuel filter, faulty ignition system (ie. plugs and wires) faulty injectors. Start with the fuel filter. Good Luck

common problem and will probably nessesitate replacing ignition switch barrel and steering lock, you will have to remove upper and lower steering covers and lower steering column to lowest position to allow you access to the two shear bolts which hold the steering lock assembly to the steering column, your local bmw agent shoul be able to get you the parts to allow you to use your own keys.

as per BMW the correct engine oil in your car is CASTROL TWS MOTORSPORT 10w60, the engine holds 7 quarts with a new filter, hope this helps,P;ease rate my fix as i strive to be thr best. Thanks Ray
