Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 2 wheel drive chevy silverado? And how do i get to it?

It could be low on coolant or a bad or stuck thermostat. This thermostat is usually located internally under and inside the top large coolant hose coming from the radiator and retained by three bolts. There is a spring on the thermostat that opens up to let the water flow through the engine. If it is not opening this could be your problem.

2 wheel drive?? remove dust cap cotter pin and remove bearing holding nut , the rotor hub assembly is all one piece

check the cv axles for wear such as torn rubber boots, when in 4 wd the noise should be even worse

Hi; If this vehicle has electronic vacuum or pushbutton four wheel drive, the vacuum acuator switch is probably defective.
