OK... brains are expensive. It sounds like your PT STARTS OK, but keeps your TRANSMISSION locked.

Many transmissions have a 'lock' that is coupled to the car BRAKES. So the transmission may not allow SHIFTING if the BRAKE SWITCH is not sensed as 'brakes applied'.

APPLIED BRAKES = OK TO START/SHIFT. So it's possible a defective switch is your problem?

Then you need to have the input and the output turbine sensor's replaced,(aka speed sensor) same thing different name. does it use clutch fluid ,check the level make sure you have enough ,if not the clutch my need adjusted...

You have a shift solenoid valve that appears not to be working. Based on the code, it's the #2 valve. Have a reputable transmission shop look at it.

Sounds like the shift lock solenoid is not working, there could be a couple of different things causing this. First thing I would check is the brake light switch witch is located under the dash on the brake pedal assy.. The second thing it could be is the shift lock solenoid its self, wich is located around or near the shifter.

you might have some wire toughing the ground rabbing when put it in reverse the eng shiftting causing wires to stretch and might touching ground or hot wire

sounds like you have broken shifter cable..if you remove battery and tray..you can see if cable is moving shift lever on trans..if it is,you may have something broken in trans on valve body

Being that this is a 2008 pt cruiser, I would take it back to the dealership and let them look the car over!! Should be covered under warranty!!
