If the fans are electric, then replace the fan control module.
If the fan is belt driven, replace the fan clutch.

There is a chance that the thermostat is failing, but if the temperature fluctyation occurs during driving, as opposed to stopped and idling, then it's probably the fans.

I have a 1993 mercury' marquis. The floor boads of the front part of the car get hot. And the thermostat keeps falling to c and rising to half way and falling on gage. Can u please help?! Thanks

possible no water in the engine and it is overheating
this is indicated by the temp gauge rising and falling
temp gauge sender units need to be immersed in water full time to get a reading so if it goes up that is in water and when it falls back that is in nothing or steam
hot engine would account for hot floor

Pressure in the AC keeps rising and falling.

was the pressure gauge connected to the discharge side or the suction side of the compressor
if you have it connected to the suction side , you have excessive gas in the system

My 96 jeep grand cherokee keeps dieing when it gets hot

My first question would be, do you know if the cooling fan is coming on ? ?
The computer can shut down the engine if it reaches 250 or 260 degrees. You could also have a coil or other electrical part that is failing when hot.

Temp gauge keeps rising like its going to run hot. No heat just cold air......had radiator flushed about a month ago

No heat is meaning the coolant isn't circulating, so it could be a few things.
  1. Thermostat stuck closed (Most Likely)
  2. Water Pump leaking
  3. Clogged Heater Core
  4. Intake Gasket Leaking Internal or External
  5. Head Gasket/Gaskets leaking external .. If its internal there would be big piles of white milky smoke

hi,
i actually used to have a 1995 pontiac grand am that did the same thing....only difference was i didn't have to restart the car....usually what i would do was drop the car in neutral and gas the car and i'd notice my temp gauge go down and my heater gave heat.....chances are it's a sticky termostat. Hopefully that helped.

2008 Impala heat problems

remove the radiator cap and let the car run for 30 minutes to let the air out of the heater coil, these radiator caps on the 2008 Impala will not bleed off, while running notice if air bubbles air slowly rising to the top of the radiator cap, re-install cap and see if this fixes problem, we also purchased a new radiator cap, this fixed my wifes car.
