still won't crank ? how's your battery ? starter ? starter solonoid ? if your engine does'nt crank , its dead ! would'nt you check the battery first ? then move on with checking the starter circuit ? seems like your putting the cart before the horse ! first of all, when you run out of gas, you need to replace the FUEL FILTER, your engine just sucked the dirt, garbage, etc., out of the tank. there's plenty of sediment in the tank, don't know how it gets there, but, you'd be surprized ! talking threw experience !!! I operate heavy equipment, its a cardinal sin to run out of fuel !!! you say you replaced the inline filter, which one, up by the engine or the main filter, under vehicle along frame ? are we talking about the same animal, PLEASE CLARIFY !
Those are known for having the fuel pump go out. Take the gas cap off, open the little steel door with a screwdriver and have someone turn the key forward, not cranking it over, just turn it until all the dash lights come on and see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on for about 2 seconds. You definitely need 2 people to do this. If you can hear the fuel pump then its probally not getting spark.
drop the gas tank and the inlet to your tank turns. you may need to tap it with a hammer to get it to turn. your fuel pump is in there. make sure you unhook the battery before you start.
1. Place the ignition switch in the off position. 2. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 10 seconds or more. It's in the under hood fuse box. Put the temp in full cold. 3. Install the fuse. 4. Start the engine. DO NOT TOUCH THE HVAC CONTROLS FOR LESS THAN 45 SECONDS. 5. Have any codes cleared with a scan tool.
