  2. Inspect all of the lines, hoses and fittings for any sign of corrosion, wear or damage to the surfaces. Check the pump outlet hose and the filter for restrictions.
  3. When reassembling, ALWAYS replace the sealing gaskets with new ones. Also replace any rubber parts showing any sign of deterioration.
To install:
  1. To assemble the pump:
    1. Secure and install a new gasket, connector and support with the screws.

Why does my 1994 2.0 GT celica sound like its splutter/ misfiring mainly when I put the foot down

Not enough fuel. Could be fuel filter, fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator(or vacuum to it), or clogged injectors. Could just need a tune up.

I have a 1994 Toyota Celica, lately when im in neutral the rpms begin to drop and when i give it gas the car stalls out or it stays under 2 rpms after second gear.

Look and listen for vacuum leak Free,Change air filter $15, change fuel filter$20, replace fuel pump$300.

With motor running and your head under hood listen for hissing sound. Then start replaceing filters first air filter , then fuel filter. Check fuel pump by listening for humming noise at gas cap when you first move key in ignition to on (when the red lights go on). Have someone listen for you at the gas cap.(NO hum need pump)

How do you change a toyota celica 1990 fuel filter

May depend on what country and engine you have (, anyway filter is on the left hand side on the fire wall, you will need a "crows feet" spanner to undo the line that is at the bottom of the filter, the top union bolt can be accessed with a regular wrench. NOTE: undo the union bolt SLOWLY so as the fuel system is under pressure., then undo the bracket that hold the filter. Hint:the genuine toyota filter is usually far better quality than some aftermarket ones, it also comes with the bracket.

My park avenue stalls when the tank is 1/4 full is this my fule pumb and how do I get to it

You could have a bad fuel gauge sending unit, fuel pump or a crack in the rubber hose which connects the fuel pump to the steel line. All 3 of these items are located in the fuel tank, so you would have to drop the fuel tank and remove the pump/sending unit assembly to inspect it. The unit can be found on the top of the fuel tank. Also check the filter on the inlet end of the fuel pump. It may be partially clogged. If it is clogged, replace it and clean out the fuel tank. Charlie
