I had the electrical wiring installed on my Grand Caravan in order to tow my trailer. The dealer installed a 7 pin connector, gave me an 4 pin/7 pin adaptor because I have a for pin connector on my trailer.. When I connected it for the first time, the computer cluster (dashboard) blew up. I had no speed, no RPM, no fuel tank gauge and engine temp guage.
Dealer said the problem came from my trailer. Strange because it worked well on my Windsatr 1998 right after this incident. Anybody know what the cause could be? Is there some sort of anti currant back up device that I can installed to prevent the thing from happening if the problems comes from my trailer?
Well the BEST way to fix that is take the Van AND Trailer to the dealer and make them check it over and get it working. Sounds like they screwed up., and are trying to blame the trailer. The 4 pins are easy to check Running lights, Left turn, Right turn and Ground. I suspect the 7 pin is wired wrong. I dont know why they put a 7 pin wiring plug on? Those are used for largeer trailers that need a battery feed and electric brakes
