My power steering is hard to turn what might be the problem its is chevy lumina 98 car

There's a good chance you've broken the clockspring or sir coil by turning it past it's limit, or you didn't plug the connector into it.

Mass airflow meter needs to be cleaned. There is a special spray cleaner for that purpose. Don't try any other kind of cleaner or you will destroy the sensor wires.

I think that your best source of information is a Haynes manual.

first check the condition and level of p/s fluid. if low top off first and turn your steering wheel left to right and back several times to try to bleed air out of p/s system. if p/s is still stiff or hard your p/s pump pressure output can be measured with a pressure gauge. if pressure is below specs its time to replace it. if your p/s output pressure is good then you would need to inspect your p/s hose or lines for kinks or restrictions to your steering rack. on certain model vehicles p/s sensitivity can be adjusted on the steering rack. you would need to check the vehicles service manual to see if its possible to adjust steering rack sensitivity.

I would maybe have someone take a look at the stabilizer bar and ball joints. Unless you request them to look at the whole steering assembly, meaning torsion bars, etc. they might not find the issue. on another note maybe your power steering pump could be taking a dump on you, was it hard to turn?

yes if the aux belt is disconnected the pulley should turn free with slight resistance, sounds like a pump fault.

buy a new multifunction switch
rent a steering wheel puller
remove airbag fuse
remove cosmetic steering wheel cover
remove airbag
remove steering wheel
replace switch
replace steering wheel
replace cosmetic cover
replace fuse

In a Lumina if the brake lights quit working but the upper one in the rear window still works or your tun signals flash weakly or a different speeds the turn signal switch needs replaced. I will cure the problem. Not to hard a job, but does require removing the steering wheel and air bag assembly.

Battery terminals are loose or have corrosion on them. Check both main battery lead's at the battery and + where it is connected to the starter and - where it connect's to the body and engine.

you need to check and make sure nothing is bent and the rackinpinion is not binding
