Question about 1983 Ford Fairmont

351C with FMX auto, Wont engage drive with high RPM

1980's model 351C with FMX auto...
If engine revs are high (2500rpm) in neutral and either D or 1st selected,(EG: Street Drag Race / Motorkarna style race start) the transmission seems to remain in neutral and wont engage forward until the revs drop down and the T-bar is moved back to neutral and then back D or 1st...
Auto oil is full.
Modulator Vacuum hose OK. Full throttle Kick-down rod has been removed..

Could this a feature of the FMX where is wont engage drive when the revs are too high???

Hyundai accent 1500 1995 model fuel injection car will not rev higher than 2500 rpm

Try changing your fuel filter, if that does not fix your issue I would have the catalytic converter changed.

Transmission problems

when checking the transmission fluid always check it while vehicle is running, if you overfill the transmission YOU WILL BURN IT UP. secoundly the high RPM is most likley a cause by a bad TPS Throttle Posiction Sensor. and yes the high RPM can cause transmission damage if you do not fix the problem pretty quick .in this case good idea to do soits getting harder and harder to get parts for these cars TPS-25.00 to 45.00 if you fix it your self, simple to do

1999 Lincoln Continental 4.6 32v engine...idles smooth in park & in gear. In park I get a engine miss when revved to 4000rpm. Also seem/feels like I have a miss at lower engine speed when being driven....

hello, i first must ask why that engine would EVER be reved to 4000 RPM? it is likely you are up against the rev-limiter and your ignition is made not to over rev. be very careful....4000 RPM on that engine could/will severly damage your tourque convertor........very expensive it is common for the EGR passages on that model to plug up with carbon, remove valve, clean ports, and retest for low speed miss/hesitation, good luck....marty

In neutral car is not going more then 4000 rpm

The 300M is equiped with a rev-limiter. The technology is designed to protect the engine. It keeps you from blowing it up when it has no load on it...If it is driving and shifting ok, and you have no check engine light on...there is nothing wrong.
Why would want to rev the engine past 4000 rpm in neutral anyway? Max torque comes in around 3950 RPM...
If you keep reving it up in neutral you might throw the computer in to LIMP mode, then you wont go no where.
Hope this answers your question...

1998 S70 manual (wont change gear until idle is under 2500rpm)

Being it is a manual transmission and the engine was removed, it is likely the clutch and pressure plate not releasing completely at high rpms.
