In order for a fuel injected engine to ran way up to redline,it has to be a combination of

air
Clean Mass Air Flow senor and connector with CRC Mass Air Flow sensor or electrical part cleaner.

fuel,
Check fuel pressure at fuel rail

ECU

incorrect / grounded / damage wiring on the TPS.

Throttle cable linkage
Smooth throttle movement?

Carpet under the gas paddle (like Toyota?)

My best is a grounded and short TPS.

My Hyundai Tiburon 04 won't go over 3000 rpm, the highest speed it will go is 70

Its a Hyundai. Get a gallon of gas and a lighter... just joking. Not enough information. Is rner check engine light on. Did any repairs get done before this problem. Did you check the throttle cable by the motor for obstructions or slack or looseness? Is the motor sputtering?

2004 Tiburon: where is the 04 hyundai tiburon 2nd fuse box?...

Hi There,

You will find the second fuse box on the right hand side of the steering wheel (australian - left hand side if in america) located underneath the power "mirrors" button. Follow the side power "mirrors" button down until you reach a false wall, unfasten this. another word for this is the "fascia"

Hope this helps

sounds like, as you thought, something is not quite back together right or your timing is way off... 2004... I assume that it is not a vaccum advance distibutor, but you might check to see if you loosened up any vaccuum connectors while working on it.

Peace,

Full throttle all the time

We actually have a TSB for the drive by wire systems that calls for both a TPS sensor/actuator replacement but it's required that you also do a PCM reflash at the same time. If you put in the new updated part without doing your reflash then you've found your problem.

Take it to the dealer and get the reflash done.
