What are the camber/toe in specs. for a 2000 pontiac sunfire?

Most likely yes. An honest shop will check and actually let you know if the camber/caster toe-in/out is within specs.

On these LH body cars, camber is not adjustable. Neither is caster. Those angles are preset by the suspension geometry. However, specifications for them ARE published. Generally, if either of those two parameters are out of spec, then it's likely something is worn or damaged and needs to be replaced.

The only adjustable parameters are to the front and rear toe but specified as "Total Toe" - see note below.
The alignment specs are as follows ...

B. REAR WHEELS

   Preferred -0.1° in
   **TOE OUT when backed onto alignment rack is TOE IN when driving.
3. THRUST ANGLE
   Acceptable -0.15° -to- +0.15°

Note: "Total Toe" is the arithmetic sum of the left and right Toe settings. Positive is Toe-in. Negative is Toe-out. Total Toe must be equally split between left and right wheels. Left and Right Toe must be equal to within 0.02° (2 one hundredths of a degree).

camber 0 to 1 degree castor 1 to 2 degrees and toe in 1/ to 1/4 inch as different roads are constructed differently with varying cambers (slope to the side for water run off) the wheel alignment is best set by a qualified wheel aligner shop to suit the local conditions

2.5 degrees negative camber is not within spec. You need new control arms in the rear. These will set your camber back to the factory setting and reduce your tire wear on the inner edge. The first shop you went to is correct, the camber cannot be adjusted, components must be replaced to rectify the excessive camber. Ive done a couple of New Style C70 rear control arms for this very reason, if your vehicle is under warranty however, the dealer needs to be able to prove that the car needs it. So if you dont have wear on your tires and when the toe was set it readjusted the camber (when you adjust toe it affects camber and caster measurements) then they cant prove to Volvo that it needs the control arms. The Caster should be between 2.3degreesand 3.3degrees,Camber should be between +.3 degrees to +1.3 degrees but I myself would recommend closer to the+.3 degrees and as for the Toe should be about 1/16th toed in to not more than 3/32 toe in.

No full 4 wheel alighnment. The struts you have replace are how the front camber is adjusted. After camber has been adjusted then toe will be set.

Camber or toe would be the problem. There is no true way of fixing it with out putting it on an alighnment machine.
