2001 buick century transmission problem

Transmission problem 2001 buick century 4speed automatic overdreve. it will not engage any gear . unplug the transmission plug and it defaults to 3 gear and will run fine. fluid looks clear and clean.

I had the same issue with only have 1st and reverse. It is your planetary gear system. Solution: rebuild the transmission. Its trashed. I decided to junk mine since it was a 99 and this its 2012 and it already around 200,000 mi. Idk exactly, the odometer went out at 168,000 then i drove it for 18 months delivering pizza's.

It could the trannie solenoid or filter.

When you push the gas pedal all the way to the floor, is the engine revving up? Does the transmission engage at all? Have you checked the transmission fluid level? Is it foamy? Do you smell something burning or burnt?

My 2002 Buick Century is jerking when it shifts gears. It is a automatic. Why is it jetking when it shifts?
Jerky shifts with an automatic transmission is normally cause by the valvebody in your transmission sticking. You could try to change the transmission fluid and filter but I seriously doubt this will solve your problem. Please rate my answer.

1988 buick century dies when put in gear
Sounds like the lock up torque convertor in the transmission is stuck in the engaged position.There is a sensor switch under the hood that can be temporarily unpluged but leaving it unplugged can ruin the transmission. Take it to a tranny shop.
