Yes. Diagram right for 2004 kangoo 1400. I fed the belt around top pulleys and around main crank pulley and simply put a 13mm spanner on the tensioner, turned it clockwise and put a +-12Mm metal rod on the inside of the tensioner to keep it open and then at leasure with minor effort slid the belt over the air con pulley last.
Still took a little swearing and discomfort to figure out the method.

Also I made a hook with a 30cm handle out of stiff wire and that helped me to position the belt.

I am so glad. Getting mechanic out to the farm would have been costly. I paid R240.00 for a serpentine belt.

It is a job a D.I.y. guy can do.

    I made 2
Ramps with some bricks and wood and drove the car up to make access space from below. I had easy access to the tensioner from below with both front wheels raised by 15cm

Cool. Don't give up. The job is doable

How to change a auxiliary belt without using a auto tensioner on renault kangoo 1.9 diesel cars

you have to have serpentine belt tool kit. and do not have to buy one unless you want one, most auto parts have loaner tools you have to have a credit card to secure the cost of replace in case you loose a part or you do not return it, then they charge your credit.

you need that tool to release the tension on the belt, it is not possible to not do without that tool, i tried doing that i tried for 5-6 hours without any luck. i went down to auto store got the tool and we got done in 15 minutes.
take it from me it not worth all that waist of time and energy just get the tool. its fast and simple.

thank you rod

Kangoo 1.4 petrol automatic.

Hi there,
I don't have prices for you but according to my experience i'ts not a too complicated job to do. You'll probably look at about 3/4 to 1 hr labour for this. To get a price on the cable, ring the nearest Renault dealer parts and ask them how much is the cable and by the way how much will be for the fitment as well.
Hope this helps and let me know how you get on.
Cheers,
Technopro
