The answer from predzy is right about the ebay blanks, but expect to pay thrue the nose for the cutting and programing services. FYI most hardware stores are incapable to do lazer cut keys without special equiptment. Be careful and shop arount for prices, avoid the dealership on this one!!!

You can get a replacement anywhere that can cut keys. If you lost all the keys for the ignition, you may need to buy a new ignition with a key.
If you want to get a new key and have the key that belongs to the car, you can get one at a dealership or you can simply go onto ebay and get a blank uncut key for cheap and have it cut from your local hardware store.

Unfortunately the key you bought on-line is going to be no good, jaguar keys cannot be cut by any after-market company. When ever a customer comes into the dealership he has to give the vin number to the parts department. They then send an order to the company that cuts the keys specifically to the car. Thats why know one will be able to cut it.
They key also has to be programed to the car which the dealership charges .5 hrs worth of labor to do. So needless to say a replacement key is fairly expensive.

Try this .. it MIGHT work.
Clean carefully the battery contacts and check there is no large build up of dirt around and on the small printed circuit. Insert new battery and then try a manual reprogram by following these instructions which work for the older style seperate key fobs - never tried it with new switchblade type keys, which I am assuming this is?
Turn on/off ignition 8 x times allowing all functions to settle each time. on the 9th on press a buttom on each remote and then switch off ign. Use the good key to lock the car then try the new key to unlock. sometimes it works first time - sometimes it takes a couple of tries - hope it works for you.

The switchblade key would need to be compatable with your ignition switch barrel. Only normally available from jag dealers who check the Jag owners register before supplying you a replacement.
The older type seperate fobs could be programmed by switching the ignition on and off 8 times (allowing all functions to settle) and on the 9th switch on - press a button on each fob and then switch off. to test use a good fob to lock the car then try the reprogammed fob to unlock/lock. Sometimes this works first time - sometimes needs a couple of tries.

If its a new key fob the only way you can program it is this the factory scan tool, u'll have to take it to a dealership for them to do this and they will charge you .5 hrs for labor.only x-types can be programmed without the jaguar software. Im guessing it will cost you between 40 and 50 bucks to have them program it.
