How to change a headlight on Nissan Versa 2007. Open the hood, pull the power cable off of the headlight. Peel off the large black rubber cover. There is a metal clip you must push in and then out to unclip. The bulb will then slide out for replacement.

The comment as hedlpful. Easier said than done. Pulling off the power connector and removing the large black rubber cover were both simple. The difficult part was getting the wire spring clips off. Seeing what you are doing is very difficult, especially at night. The spring clips ahve to be pushed toward the front opf the vehicle and then slid out to the side to disengage. Once that is done the light slips right out. Pay attention to the positioning of the light as it comes out so the new light can be inserted exactly the same way. The wire spring clips were engaged much more easily than they were disengaged. Once the spring clips are in palce the light is held firmly in place. The rubber cover slipped right back on. Ihad a terrible time getting the simple 3 prong power connector back on because I couldn't see what I was doing and the rubber cover tried to block the power connector. Once in and solid everything worked.

Thank you! this post was a lifesaver! Nissan really made this bulb replacement tough compared to other cars ive had in the past (including Xterra). did this in daylight and had to do much without a clear view.

I'm adding a pic i took so you can see the clips and what iscott45 is talking about. I pulled the wiring connector off first then the rubber boot pulled off easily. The spring clips were a bit difficult but once I realized they were independently locked and i figured out which way to push them, top clip pushed in and then upward, pushed the lower one in and down, then the whole clip swings toward the fender Thanks for the info it really helped.how to change a headlight on nissan versa 2007 - _1973.jpg

There is a set of very well written instructions here; http://forums.nicoclub.com/headlight-bulb-change-t419285.html#p6312470
At the bottom there are some very clear pictures.

Remove the plug and the boot. There is a clip that hinges on the outside (towards the fender) with 2 ends on the inside (toward the radiator). With your finger and thumb, push the ends to open the clip and swing it out of the way. The bulb comes right out. I wish someone had answered this earlier as I just learned this on my own. I have a 2007 Nissan Versa and replaced the headlights (one bulb) on both sides within the last 6 months; only the brights are working; dims stopped working at the same time. Local Auto Zone stated it was...

Hi,

Look and check the head light/ low relay.

Seems that relay is not functioning anymore. To check it, ask somebody to turn on the headlight and you must hear some clicking sound on the relay box, if there are no clicking, pull out the relay and insert a similar type around that area, just to check if it works. Try to use that relay( the low beam) also to another similar socket to see if it works.

If the relay is still okay, problem would be the main light switch itself. Most nissan got problem with the contact points in the switch, the stopper that directs the contact points are made of plastic and tends to melt and holds the metal contact point instead of pushing it to another contactor.

Hope that helps you out!

Thanks for using Fixya!

2007 Nissan Versa gear shift locked in Park. My Versa will not shift out of park unless i push the shift lock button. What could be the problem?

There is a switch under your break padal, which is responsible for tail lights and gear lock. if that switch is working fine and your tail lights are working fine then check the electronic lock of gear which is under the cover of gear.
