01 chevy prizm engine stalls when headlights or blinker turned on

PRIZM.

wont crank or?

cranks fast, but will not start.?

did you try jump cables start? off a running donor car, AAA style>?

and had to disconn? what does that mean and what was results? if any.

ahhh, to fix the stuck on blinkers? i get it.

the engine type dictates what wiring car has. (partly)



fix the stuck blinkers first. this implies, either ignition switch failure

or gross wiring errors, hacks gone wrong.

the key swtich does turn off blinker power feed.

You have bad switch if it were a bcm you would lose all of your lights

Add some power steering fluid problem solved if not replace power steering pump problem solved.

This sounds like there may be a short on the passenger side causing the circuit to draw more amperage than it should, thus dimming the headlights. try using an amp clamp on the blinker wire at different spots to see if the amperage jumps up.

It can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its clogged filters causing there.

Seems like a huge issue huh?! First have the battery checked 2. check all connections for corrosion around battery area. I'm assuming this just started? 3. if all other things check out good, have the charging system tested for no less than 13.5 volts with all accesories on. Replace the alternator as necessary. Let me know what you find and I'll be happy to continue to advise.

I think you have a bad shorted battery or bad alternator.

you may need to replace the multifuction switch on you steering column,where you turn your headlights on,am almost positive you are having a shortcut there

The problem can be the headlight switch itself or a defective headlight relay. A repair manuel purchased at a auto parts store would give you this information and give you the location of the relay.
