I just bought a 2005 dodge caravan se with factory dvd player. it did not come with headphones and i cant get the sound to come through the stereo speakers... do i need headphones or is there a way to get the sound to come out the speakers
To get the sound to come out of the wireless headphones, you need to use the "headphone" button on the top left of the DVD remote like the one pictured here:

Of course, you also need wireless headphones like these:

My grandcarvan sxt came with a remote for the DVD system and wireless headphones from KOSS. You have to press the headphone button on the remote to change it to headphones otherwise it comes through the main system. With the button pressed we can listen to cd or radio in front while they wear the headphones in back. You might need the remote to change it back to main system. The headphones from Koss are lifetime guaranty and not too expensive.
It wont work thru the factory stereo unless it was setup that way. Did you call daimler/chrysler? They should be able to tell you how the system works or u can check the owners manual if you have it.
my grand caravan came with a remote that allows you to change it to the headphones.(for the DVD machine) Otherwise it comes through the main system. When the headphone button on the remote is pressed then I can play the radio in front and the kids listen with wireless headphones in back. Only can be done with the remote.
