After fitting new struts to the tailgate of my daughter's 2001 Town and Country' the remote opener no longer works. I am returning to Australia on 7th Dec. and would like to fix the problem B4 I leave. Any ideas. She is a single mum with 3 young kids and can't afford to go to a Chrysler dealer!

If you have the other dome lights, it's the wires. They usually break in the rubber boot from the hatch to the body. It's at the top of the hatch.

do you have a second fob try it battery may be low may need reprogramed or replaced check with your dealer

Hi ... You need two people, two new gas struts a small screw driver and a thirteen mill open end spanner.....
Change one at a time with the second person supporting the tailgate, dependant on what type is fitted the struts will have a metal "c" clip that needs to be removed at both ends on the ball joint sockets, prise the clips out and remove the strut, and replace in reverse order.... if you have the struts with the ball and sockets at each end you need to support the tailgate with your by now long suffering partnre and undo the nut and socket in the body and tailgate.... they, once loosened will come out easily..... just make sure that when refitting you dont cross threads... repeat same on the other side and then give friend a cold beer..... hope this helps..... try opening the tailgate or the passenger doors with the key

try reseting the immobiliser/alarm or fitting new bateries to the remotes then reseting as a first step.(i am assuming you disconnected the battery to fit map sensor)

I believe the doors have to be unlocked before the remote can open them. If they are not unlocking by remote, it seems a common solution is to remove the IDO fuse in the fuse box under the hood, and simply put it back in. This resets the electronic problems and seems to allow everything to work again. If the problem reoccurs regularly it may be because one or more locks are not functioning properly causing the system to shut them down. Lubrication usually works well.

Remove and reinsert the IDO fuse in the fuse box under the hood.

You most likely need new struts and shocks. especially in the rear. It is common. If it feels like this all the time including driving straight, then check that sway bar an ends aren't broken.

Open you tailgate look at the carpet, you will see a rectangel cut . Lift the flap there is a nut that you need to loosen with you tire iron,and that will lower you tire.

If you have a hand book that comes with the van the instructions are in there. on the top panel you have one two or three dots on a switch you have to hold the garage opener next to the switch in the van press both together until it flashes .
