I replaced both headlight lamps on my 1996 Toyota Tercel. ...How To Install Replace Headlight and Bulb Toyota Corolla 98-02... Rear brake shoe replacement Toyota Tercel 1991-1998 Paseo Drum brakes Install Remove ...
Open the hood and look at the backside of the headlight. See if you can find the middle part where the wires are connected to it. There should be some sort of plastic, knobby ring at the connection site. Grab it and start off gently turning it counterclockwise. If stuck, slowly increase force turning. Afterwards, pull the wiring harness out. There may be a little tab on the harness you have to push down to pull it out. Then pull the bulb out and take it to an autoparts store and get a new one.
check the fuses first, located either inside the car behind the storage compartment next to the steering wheel, or under the hood, if there all ok, check the wiring harnesses and bulbs, ive noticed that the corolla has had several grounding problems, so check those out and good luck, hope this helps and god bless
Yep sounds like you need a new headlight bulb The flashing is the tungsten fillament inside of the bulb breifly contacting the broken halves together when hitting it..Replace the bulb and all should be good. Note some times the light may stay on ,, this is because the broken halves arc welt themselves and break again upon cooling after you turn lights off ...good luck
Raise the hood and look at the rear of the headlight asembly and you should see the plug for the light. That needs to be unplugged then spin the lock off the bulb and pull out the bulb. There is almost always something in the way that needs to be removed first but that should get you started.
At the back of the headlight you should find a rubber cover of some sort, you need to pull that out. After that has been removed, a metal clip that serves as a lock to the bulb and the socket should be there. It hinged to one side and clipped to the other side of the headlamp. Open that one and you should have access to the plug. Pull it out and you should be able to twist the bulb a little to get it out. Do the reverse when inserting the new bulbs.
Unless you have really small hands, you are going to have to unbolt the battewry bracket, and move the battery backwards as far as possible. Then you will be able to see the connection where the bulb socket mounts behind the headlamp. There are 2 different styles of bulbs that you may find...
If you see a large rubber ring, remove it, and undo the silver clip to extract the bulb.
If the wiring/socket goes directly into the back of the headlamp, simply twist the socket 1/4 turn, and pull it out.
