It is located on the right side of the engine if you are looking under the hood. Follow the black radiator hose on the right all the way up to the engine and there is the thermostat housing. You will need a 10mm socket to remove three bolts and the housing and thermostat will come right off. Make sure when installing the new one that you have the spring side of the thermostat inside the engine. It will now work if installed backwards. The new thermo should come with a black o-ring or gasket-make sure to replace. This job takes about 30min.
Follow the top radiator hose back to where it attaches to the engine the dome shaped fitting that is bolted to the motor is the thermostat housing .undo the bolts holding it in place ,take care to see the way the old one is sitting ,so you can put the new one in the same way .replace the gasket and put it back on , have a beer ,then fill her up with coolant and have another beer cos the job is done
Follow the top radiator hose to the housing at the engine end of the hose, that is bolted to the engine. Remove the bolts that attach the housing. Once you pull the housing, the existing thermostat will be revealed. Take note of the direction the thermostat is facing, as you will put the replacement in EXACTLY the way the old one is..it will fit reversed, but will not function that way. If your car has a thermostat gasket, you will need to replace that as well. If it has machined surfaces in lieu of a gasket, you will need to throughly clean and dry both surfaces, (housing and engine), before putting back together. You will also use a gasket sealer product when replacing, (make sure you don't get any on the thermostat). Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!
