Just bought a 2010 Volvo XC90 and thru the USB connection, trying to run my Zen MP3 player. It powers it up, but says it unreadable. The manual says it would play IPOD and MP3 players. Anything I can do? Software issue with Volvo? I am currently playing thru the radio, but it doesn't have the same sound quality.

You need to bring it back to your dealor for advice because if you mess around wit it to much and break something they will end hyour warrenty for that part of your car.

They make a cd player cleaner you can buy about any audio store , I would give that a shot first. Looks like a cd with small brushes on it. The laser is probably dirty.
i would recommend a new head unit as by the sounds of it your laser is stuffed. another thing is, is it mp3s your trying to put in? and is it a mp3 playing cd player.

Sorry, It's not reparable. You have to change it the new one. This price is very high. If your car hasn't warranty, I suggest you, use a portable DVD-USB player with an FM trasmitter in your car. I know it isn't sounds good, but I had the same problem and I have changed the CD player to a new one (it was terrible prize, of course) and I never use CD and DVD since that time. I use mp3 -usb combo only and i haven't any problem. I hope this help.
