What type and year of vehicle?
It sound like it could possibly be your torque converter, or possibly an internal issue. Are there any check engine codes? Any other symptoms?

You could try putting the ignition in the`ON`position(dash lights only) remove negitive battery terminal for 90secs with ignition still on re-connect the battery.If that fails find someone with a code reader to put the light out..Hope it helps...

P0171 is a fuel trim system lean (bank 1) trouble code, and it can be caused by an air or vacuum leak between the MAF (mass air flow sensor) and the throttle body, or a vacuum leak somewhere else, be sure to check all the vacuum lines and make sure all of the clamps are tight in the air induction system, especially between the MAF and the throttle body.

This could be two seperate problems but the trac and vsc lights can come on when the check engine light does for a number of codes. Have the check ngine light scanned to diagnose the problem. When the problem that caused the engine light to come on is resolved and the code cleared the tra and vsc lights should turn off as well. Rarely they will stay on in which case your toyota dealer may have to do a "zero point calibration".
