I've got a 97 GMC Yukon XL, I have a problem with the inside door handle on the driver side. To open the door I have to pull the handle and give it a shoulder for it to open. I think my problem is my door latch, I think it's giving out? Help

SOURCE: How do you install an inside door handle on a 1997

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can put the new handle in and reconnect everything

SOURCE: 1997 GMC 5.0 litre 1500 sierra fuel pump hums all

That's a posibility!

Test fuel pump pressure, if it is low or doesn't hold up, change it before quits.

Also, check the fuel pump relay, it could be stucked.

Good Luck

How do you remove a door panel off a 1997 sierra 1500

There will be 2 either screws or bolts in the pull pocket of your door panel (arm rest area you use to pull door shut). As well use a clip tool or flat head screwdriver and pop off the little cover that goes behind your inner door handle, be gentle. there will be a screw behind there if i remember correct. as well there is a cover clip just under the part of the trim panel that goes up to the mirror area pop that off. once you have all those handled the rest is just held on by clips to save you grief with scratching the interior of the door begin near the speaker and rocker panel. Work your way around if you begin at the big opening of your door you may scratch the paint and will see it. Best used for this is a automotive clip remover tool. door panel will then be off

How to take the door panal off a 2000 gmc sierra 1500? to fix speakers in the door?

remove the few screws around the pull handle and or door latch handle. Then pry off the panel. This will damage the plastic snap-in holders. They will have to be replaced. they are very cheap at the dealership or probably even any auto parts store...
