I am getting a #2 cylander misfire when I start up my 2002 golf 2.0 liter. then the engine cuts the power and I get the multipule random misfire message. as well as a misfire message for my # 4 cylander this only seems to happen on cold damp days. I have already replaced my spark plugs and wires.

2002 Chevy Cavalier misfire

You may want to check for fuel volume and fuel quality. There may be moisture in the fuel. It would also help to know which cylinders it is misfiring on. Scan tool will show the misfire on live data.

2002 Envoy sle 4.2 L straight 6. Random misfire(PO300). After erasing codes for several days, I finally took my car on the highway and ran it at high speed(70+) for about 4 to 5 miles. Check engine light came on as before but this time it gave me(PO305). Random misfire cylinder 5. So I switched coil 5 with coil 2. Went back out on the highway and repeated as before. This time it gave me(PO302). This was telling me I had a bad coil. Replacing one coil pack solved the problem. The professionals told me low fuel pressure would not give me random misfire, but rather a O2 code because the engine is running lean. Thank you------------------------------------ thank you very much.

I have a 01 mazda protege. When im driving, it acts like it wants to cut off for a second then drive fine for a while. Also cut off at a stoplight.

check the fuel filter for clogging up. if a fuel filter gets bad it will lack power and it will stall at stops. when starting engine up, the debris is on bottom of filter. as you drive, if its bad it will continue to plug up.

2002 liberty 3.7 liter. I have replaced the coil, plugs and injector for cylinder #6. On cold starts I get a ramdom misfire code and engine is missing. If I re-start 3-4 times engine starts up and runs...

If you have Coil- on -Plug you haven't found the bad one yet

Your not always going to get a code that is correct
e.g.PO304,PO305 etc

I would buy the injector from you, as I'm sure that wasn't it,
unless you have an air leak around it

You want no vacuum leaks,a near new EGR Valve,no
air induction tubing leaks

Clean the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner

Clean Throttle Plate--CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

You did put anti-sieze on those spark plugs, if not
do so.

How old are the O2 Sensors
More than 80,000 mile, replace the front 2 with OEM
Specific Make--Bosch or NGK etc and not some
cut & splice universal type

Lancer has a cylander 2 misfire code reads. Sputter when accelerating. Exhaust noise change. Spark is fine.

try changing the spark plugs , this usually cause this problem if this doesn't work check the plug to see if it has oil on the end that goes into the engine if this happens then you need to rebuild the engine, good luck.

2002 buick regal starting problem

You are describing a low battery voltage problem, make sure the alternator is working correctly, at least 13.5 volts at idle, also try to charge the battery and have it tested, Kragen will do the tests for free is you can get the car down there.
