2008 honda pilot map lights

Sounds like this may be in the door switch. There is a small rubber covered switch in the door jamb. Pull the cover off the screw should be a bit smaller than a dime. Use a screw driver to remove the screw behind the cover. Check to see if the wire is hooked up. Push it on try to gently pull it off and then push it on again. This should solve your problem. If not check for power to the switch,

How to replace map light when the old light has gone into the above cavity and needs fishing out?

  • Take a small Flathead screwdriver and put a handkerchief over the tip and gently pry the light cover off at the points indicated in the diagram below.
  1. Then take your handkerchief and use it to unscrew/pull out the bulb itself.
  2. Use your handkerchief to install the bulb as well. This keeps the oil on your fingers from negating the bulb itself.
  3. Now just push the map light covers on and your done.

Replacing map light bulb in 2008 honda ridgeline

For the front map lights - gently pry the cover down using a very small screwdriver. The outer-edge (left or right) should be last. the inner portion is where the cover pivots and snaps in.
Once the cover is removed, just unplug the bulb and replace. It is a tube-style bulb...it kind of looks like an old style fuse.

Which fuse controls the map light .The manuel does not show it .Thanks

Without knowing the year, make, or madel, I can't be sure, but, If you remove the fuse box cover on the inside of the car, ( usually located on the driver's side, near the door, just under the dash.), most manufacturer's put a diagram of the fuses and what they're for on the inside of the cover.

This should also be the location for your map light fuse.

I hope this will help you.

How to remove map light cover

The map light cover is part of the over head console.

For the non overhead rail system, open the rear compartment, and grab in the rear corners, pulling down. 4 or 6 spring clips hold it up.
1st time is the hardest to get it down, part spring tension, part worried about breaking something. It is a hard pull, but will come down.

Once you have the overhead console down, you will see the gray 1/4 turn bulb holders installed from the back. These are 2 element bulbs, take one with to the parts sore.
