1999 Oldsmobile Bravada Heating Problem

1999 Oldsmobile Bravada Temperature Gauge reads high. It goes down when I step on accelerator. Air blows hot when temp gauge is normal. Air blows cold when temp gague is high. Also, heater fan goes on and off by itself, and Check Gauges light goes on and off. Put in new water pump and thermostat. Coolant is full. Radiator is fine. Does anybody know what the problem could be?

When engine is cold remove radiator cap and check coolant level, sounds like it is really low and has an air pocket in it.

Are the hoses hot to the touch?
If not, then check your cooling system for either air-pockets or blockages.
If the main radiator is also not hot when running and if the temperature gauge is reading high, then change your thermostat.

If, as you say both hoses are the same temp and hot to the touch, then is the interior blower motor turning?
Have you checked the condition of any interior cabin air filter?
Also check that the heater matrix core hasn't been clocked up with dirty/fir/fluff etc.

I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada with automatic climate control that blows cold air in the winter and hot in the summer. The thermostat is working fine and it doesn't need flushed. There are no le

It sounds like the system is fried. Based on the description, it is just pulling in the outside air and not doing anything to heat or cool the flow. Unfortunately, this is a job for your preferred mechanic.

My heater will not blow hot air in my 1999 Chrysler Cirrus

When the coolant flush was done, did you have the thermostat changed as well? I would have the thermostat replaced. If the temperature gauge was reading properly, but you still had warm, not hot air, it would lean more towards the heater core being clogged, but that deosn't seem to be the issue your having, so i would go with the thermostat replacement. And whereever you have the repairs done at...make sure they fully bleed all the air out of the cooling system, this could also cause poor warm-up / heating problems. Hope this helps...

My 1999 Chevy Malibu runs hot? It started when it overheated. We changed the thermostat, then water pump, then temp sensor gauge and the temp gauge goes high but only when the heater stops blowing hot...

Air pockets will make the guage do that, and also cause your heat to come and go. Also, a poor radiator, as in rotting, or plugged up, will cause high temperature issues.

The heater blows hot air when in cool position on a 98 olds bravada

AC not working?

on a hot day it will blow warm/hot air if the AC is turned off or not working

If its hot air and AC is working then i would start by checking the fuse or relay. if its not the fuse/relay then i would look into the heater box there is a door that blocks the hot air

I have a 91 bravada all gauges work but my temp can some help

Find and check the temperature gauge sensor 'sender' unit on the engine.
To test:-
- if you ground the wire connected to the sender the gauge should go to full scale high,
- open circuit the gauge should read zero (nil deflection).
If above test ok, replace the temperature sender unit with correctly specified item.
