There is a problem with the transmission internally - it is in limp mode to protect it from damage - to confirm this is the problem, disconnect battery for a minute and then reconnect and drive -- should drive ok for a moment , but then go back into limp mode

My 93 grand voyager drives but wont shift in regular, drive drive 2, or low. what do you think the problem is?

have you checked the fluid level for the transmission and the condition of the fluid, sometimes the fluid and filter may need to be changed.if this is good then the problem is internal of the tranny and will have to be dissasembled to inspect for the worn out parts.you say it drives but won`t shift through the gears normally like it should.

1998 PLYMOUTH Voyager 2.4 3 speed auto Just started doing this: stays in first gear until about 28 mph.

Sounds like a valve body problem, or shift solenoid inside the transmission. Sounds like it is sticking. Check fluid make sure it is not brown which means it is burnt, and make sure there is plenty of fluid but not overfilled.

My 93 plymouth voyager won't start unless I spray starting fluid down air cleaner, then it only runs a few seconds.

Listen for fuel pump when turning ignition to on position. If no pump sound, locate fuel pump fuse and relay in box under hood. First check fuse, then listen to relay while ignition is turned to on. Relay should click. If no click, replace relay. If click, circuits are good and pump is likely bad. Please reply if you have questions.

Plymouth 1998 Grand Voyager /I have a whining noise

Check your power steering fluid. If low it whines and is related to engine speed.

Good luck, TD

I have a playmouth grand voyager 1999 3L,my transmission will not shift up in gear.On drive or reverse it goes well but will not shift.I think it could be an electrique problem, cause the transmission looks...

Your trans is stuck in safe mode, you are only using 2nd gear, this means it is not shifting but staying at a gear so you will not damage the trans. This is an electrical setting , however usually comes from the computer receiving bad information , rough shift, however it can be reset. Remove the positive battery cable for 30 minutes then see if it shifts, also check your fluid level, it can go into safe mode from low fluid if you made a turn and the trans slipped from low fluid . If your trans goes back into safe mode again have it checked, most important, do not drive over 45 mph or allow your rpms to raise over 3 , I have seen many motor problems that spawned from this type of trans problem, if not corrected.

Good Luck

Speedometer error on 1993 Plymouth Voyager with 3.3L V6

Have you called transmission place? Did they also install it? Ask them if they changed speedometer adapter, and mention the difference in speed.

96 plymouth voyager no shift

you say the fluid looks good... that's great.
now next time your out drive for about ten good minuetes long enough for the transmission to get nice and warm and then pull over to nice level ground and with the vehicle in park check the fluid again. it's kind of hard to read because it always has a lot of bubbles on it and stuff. but it may be low on fluid.. good-luck ray
