First thing to do is put the car in park and then set the parking brake. Next, release the drivers and passenger side handles (located at the top, above your head when you are sitting in the car, where the part of the top meets the windshield) Both handles are black and you simply pull the lever to release the hooks. After both hooks are released, push the button located near the speedometer (should be underneath the speedometer) on the dash and the top motor will engage and begain to retract the top. Hold the button untill the top disapears behing the back seat

Sounds as though you may have done some serious damage to your wring harness, try splicing the wires you cut back together if you know which is which. This may solve it or you may need a new wiring harness, tou may be able to find one from a salvage yard. Good Luck To You
The following worked for me: get in the car and shut the door, then put the key in the ignition and turn it till all the dashboard lights come on, but don't turn it any further and start the car, then press the "Lock" button on the remote, if the doors then lock then it has reprogrammed.
If your looking to replace them, wich is what most do today, it is cheaper to purchase a axle with new cv joints than to rebuild them. It is a very simple job in todays cars, remove tires remove lower tie rod , remove nut in center of the rotor and pull wheel assembley to the side hanging from the strut, pull axle out replace the transmission seal, push new axle in. When putting wheel assembley on, use a hydraulic jack on bottom of the rotor to push it to the axle splines and put the new nut on .
