fuel pump shut off due to security light on ????? Security systems do not disable fuel pumps , disables cranking and or fuel injectors . So what the service light isn't on ??? If the security light is lit codes are stored in the BCM - body control module ,theft deterrent module , What ever controls the theft system on your fantom vehicle . Your best bet ,have it towed to a qualified repair shop.
Could be caused by the TIPM - totally integrated power module .Some Chrysler , Jeep an dodge vehicles have a recall on this module . Can cause all kind of electrical gremlins . I don't see it listed on this http://www.chryslerproblems.com/tipm/
Your best bet , call the dealer . Could also be caused by the anti-theft system or some other module on the vehicle .
Common issue with is car is malfunctioning of the "anti-theft/security system". If your security system is ok>>>>> Check fuel pressure, if poor....check power to fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator, if ok...Check MAP/MAF sensor.
YOU NEED TO CODE SCAN VECHCLE SEE WHAT WRONG.MANY THINGS WILL CAUSE VECHICLE NOT TO CRANK. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE PCM OR THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION.
ANY TIME SECURITY LIGHT COME ON YOU HAVE FAULT IN THE IGNITION KEY OR KEYS THEY COULD BE WORN OUT WHERE TO A POINT WHERE THE BCM AND PCM DONT RECOGNIZE THE CAR KEYS CAUSING NO START CONDITIONS.ALSO WORN KEY SWITCH AND BCM WILL CAUSE NO START CONDITIONS.TRY THESE TWO THINGS TRY ANOTHER CAR KEY IF STILL DONT CRANK.PUT KEY IN IGNITION TURN KEY TO ON POSITION WITH ENGINE OFF LEAVE KEY ON POSITION IN IGNITION FOR 10 MINUTES WATCH DASH SECURITY LIGHT WHEN IT TURNS OFF IN 10 MINUTES.TURN OFF IGNITION FOR 5 SECONDS THEN TRY STARTING CAR IF CRANKS OR DONT STILL THE PROBLEM IS IN THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM NEED TO GET DEALERSHIP TO FIX THEY HAVE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO FIX AND REPROGRAM THEFT SECURITY. SYSTEM.
If the security or anti-theft light is flashing when you attempt to start your car, and the engine does not crank or does not start, you have an anti-theft problem. The system may not be recognizing your key's key-less entry signal, or there may be a fault in the anti-theft module or wiring. There is a reset procedure to stop this anti-theft light flashing.many a times this helps
The reset procedure is as follows:--
Reset the alarm by locking and unlocking the drivers side door.Do this a couple of times and then check it will reset the factory security system .If the reset procedure does not helps then its time to get the anti-theft system checked. There is a short circuit in the anti-theft system wiring. For more detailed help on this anti-theft light blinking issues please click on the link belowhttp://www.aa1car.com/library/troubleshoot_antitheft_system.htm Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
This is a problem with chevy vehicles that have the system theft light. after a couple of years of using the key, the lock tumblers inside the ignition switch tend to wear out and so causing the system to think it's being stolen. Now you have to put the key in and turn the ignition to the on position, without cranking the car and leave it for 10 minutes until the theft light goes out. Very annoying especially if you're in a hurry. The dealer cost to repair the ignition switch goes for about $600-$800. that includes re-teaching the key.
when security light comes on your car is in theft mode.you can try another key.if engine still dont crank.dealership have to fix it.they have check the ignition switch and.pcm theft detterrant system.also cars keys have a chip on it.they have to check to see if pcm is reading the keys.if not they have to replace ignition switch and keys and reprogram your pcm theft deterrant system.so your car will crank.
